The PRAIDA asylum seekers’ program was founded in 1956. It was formerly known as SARIMM and SAVI.
The goal of PRAIDA is to improve the well-being of asylum seekers and their families, and respect their rights and dignity.
PRAIDA has a mandate from the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux [provincial department of health and social services] to meet the needs of asylum seekers throughout Quebec under section 80 of the Act Respecting Health Services and Social Services.
