Director of Professional Services
Dr. Louise Miner
I am pleased to welcome Dr. Louise Miner as Director of Professional Services for the Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux du Centre-Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal (CIUSSS West-Central Montreal).
In this position, Dr. Miner will oversee the management of the CIUSSS West-Central Montreal medical, dental and pharmaceutical resources in collaboration with the Council of Physicians, Dentists and Pharmacists. More specifically, she will be responsible for the managers in the following areas: operating rooms, endoscopy, emergency, critical care, cancer care, bed management, reception, and appointments.
She will also be an active member of the Clinical Coordination Committee, contributing from an administrative and clinical point of view. Dr. Miner will prioritize the continued development and emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration for the benefit of the patient experience.
Dr. Miner has been a practicing obstetrician/gynecologist at the Jewish General Hospital (JGH) for 26 years. During 15 of those years, she was involved in managing the department and in the resident training committee as the site coordinator for medical students.
“I do not fear change when the goal is to provide the best possible patient experience,” says Dr. Miner. “I originally chose to work at the JGH because it was clear that clinicians aligned their practice with the hospital’s values. We have maintained our commitment to teaching, research and excellence in patient care, which continues to unite us and our multidisciplinary partners and gives us the feeling that we belong to a very large family. With this expansion of our family, and after having met some leaders from our CIUSSS West-Central Montreal partner institutions, I am confident that the motivation to break down clinical silos for our patients will lead to big changes and big improvements. Even in this time of dramatic, historical change, I continue to smile knowing that we are moving forward as a team with some control to make meaningful contributions. This will undoubtedly instill a sense of pride in us all.
Together with Dr. Miner, the rest of the management team, and in partnership with all of the institutions in our network, I am eager to embark on this new era in health care. I look forward to seeing the impact of her experience and fresh point of view on our CIUSSS West-Central Montreal and on clinical teams across our network. I believe Dr. Miner’s vision will drive everyone involved to re-imagine the way their practices could be organized optimally around the needs of our patients.
